Make a Gratitude Jar:
-
Find a jar or box around the house that you can decorate how you want. Be creative and use any art supplies you have around the house.
-
Once you make your jar, think about the people, places and experiences in your life you are thankful for. Here are 2 examples: I am thankful for the dinner I had tonight, it was my favorite: pizza! I appreciate my grandma because she visited me when I was sick.
-
Write a new appreciation down every day and place it in your gratitude jar. Here are some sentence starters that may help you:
Today was special because....
Three people who make me happy are...
Something I accomplished today...
Something little that makes me smile...
Something I’m looking forward to...
I was proud of myself today because...
I appreciate (person) because...
Something I am grateful for...
Something I like about my family...
